The communities we serve: The major towns straddling the south-west Surrey and east Hampshire border.

Our approach to local news: If it matters to you, it matters to us. Our brands are unashamedly local – local news, local sport, local affairs. To us, life really is local.

What is great about the area we serve: People in our area care deeply about the communities in which they live and work. And so do we. Together, we can make a real difference. When our newspapers asked for volunteers to help alleviate the problems locally caused by Covid, so many people came forward it was difficult to find roles for them all. That’s the kind of communities we serve.

How we help advertising clients: Staff in the advertising team provide a range of marketing opportunities, both in print and online, to help clients promote their goods and services to generate more customers. Our brands are instantly recognisable – and, more than that, they are trusted by our communities. In print, online and on social media, the Herald and the Post have a huge following – and our brands engage with a huge number of people every single day.

“We support our communities. We campaign on real issues that matter to our readers.”

- Farnham Herald

How we make a difference: We hold those in authority to account. We support our communities. We campaign on real issues that matter to our readers. No wonder the judges in the Newspaper of the Year Awards said the Herald was ‘a paper that roars’. We do – on behalf of our readers, in print and online.

Our history: We can trace the origins of the Herald and the Post back more than a century. The Post is a descendent of the first local newspaper in Petersfield – the first issue of The Petersfield Weekly News came out on September 5 1883. The Farnham Herald came out in 1892, and the Haslemere Herald followed four years later. The rest, as they say, is history…
