Cambrian News again leads way on digital audience

Our Cambrian News team are celebrating after their website topped a table for user engagement for the third time in seven months.

After collecting the best weekly newspaper award at November’s Welsh Media Awards, the team have again come out on top of a digital analytics report.

The Cambrian News team topped monthly figures for the amount of time users spent on their website in June in comparison to the entire UK regional news media, with each user spending an average 8.89 minutes on the site.

They also took top spot in December and March.

West Midlands-based large city title Birmingham Live was among the big hitters to score well on the Ipsos monthly web traffic charts for regional titles during June with audience growth of nearly 20pc.

The sister website of the Birmingham Mail topped the lists for both unique users and page views. Its audience grew by 19.44pc year-on-year to stand at 9.725m, while monthly page views increased by 12.89pc to 63.995m.

Meanwhile Reach plc sister title Gloucestershire Live more than quadrupled its audience with unique users up from 964,311 in June 2o23 to 4.3m last month.

Ipsos iris is billed as “the only UKOM endorsed service for the measurement of audiences for online content and ad campaign verification”.

Ipsos offers an online measurement solution that allows media agencies, owners, and advertisers to get total understanding of the UK’s online audiences.
