The communities we serve: We are the local paper for Crediton and a 20-mile radius including much of Mid Devon and parts of West Devon, Teignbridge, North Devon, Torridge and Exeter.

Our approach to local news: We are your local news service. We keep our readers informed of current news and affairs and have journalists living and working in the areas they serve. We have a base in the heart of Crediton High Street. We cover a wide range of news stories, features and sport, community news, events and much more. We aim to reflect life in the community we serve. We also offer readers a chance to have their say on the issues that affect them.

What is great about the area we serve: It is the people of the town and area that make it such a good place to live and work. We are privileged to be a part of people’s lives, to tell their good news, and sometimes sad news, to others. We play a large part in the community, serving the rural and more urban communities.

How we help advertising clients: With a well established office in the centre of the High Street we are very accessible to customers and have a very friendly approach and a vast amount of local knowledge. Advertising executives work closely with editorial staff to give the best profile to our clients, both in print and online.

“We are an information service for local people and a valuable and trustworthy source of news.”

- Crediton Courier

How we make a difference: We make a difference by holding local government to account, featuring inspirational stories and raising local issues. We are an information service for local people and a valuable and trustworthy source of news. We encourage debate and feature local campaigns to bring about change. We help to hold our community together.

Our history: The Crediton Courier was first published in December 1974 as a monthly newspaper for the town and area. In the 1980s it became a fortnightly publication and then encouraged by readers and advertisers, in May 2013 the Courier became a weekly publication. The hyperlocal ethos of the newspaper has remained the same but developments in technology and changes in the way people demand their news means that we can now provide news around the clock through our website and social media platforms. In addition, more than 60 people with little or no sight receive the Crediton Talking Newspaper, recorded by volunteers from the Courier each week.
