The Cambrian News is among the finalists for a prestigious national media award for the third successive year.
The team at our Welsh publication are hoping it will be a case of third time lucky after the title was shortlisted for the News Brand of the Year (Small) prize at the Regional Press Awards.
Staged by organiser the Haymarket Media Group to “celebrate the achievements that define local and regional UK journalism”, the winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held in London on March 11.
The awards are supported by industry news title HoldtheFrontPage and the News Media Association.
Established in 1860, the Cambrian News informs communities in Ceredigion, Powys, Gwynedd, north Carmarthenshire and north Pembrokeshire through its website, social media accounts and weekly print editions.
Last month the Cambrian News was also named as a finalist for a third successive year for the Newspaper of the Year accolade at the Journalists’ Charity’s Wales Media Awards 2025, a title it won in 2023, with journalist Debbie Luxon in the running for News Writer of the Year.
The Journalists’ Charity’s Wales Media Awards are staged each year by the organisers to recognise “individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and contribution to journalism in Wales in either English or Welsh”, honouring excellence in print, online and broadcast journalism. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner to be held at Cardiff’s Parkgate Hotel on January 16.
