The countdown to Christmas in Jersey has begun as Channel 103 joins forces with the island’s ferry operator DFDS to launch the Channel Islands’ first radio station dedicated to non-stop festive favourites.
Channel Christmas powered by DFDS, is now live playing the islands’ biggest festive tunes from Slade to Shakin’ Stevens and Mariah Carey to Michael Bublé throughout the day, every day up until December 27th.
The Christmas-themed sister station to Channel 103 and Island FM, is broadcasting on DAB+, Radioplayer, app and smart speaker.
DFDS Route Director Chris Parker said: “Christmas is a special time for islanders as well as our teams on board and in port so we’re delighted to teaming up with Channel 103 for the perfect Christmas soundtrack.
“Channel Christmas powered by DFDS will bring a touch of festive sparkle to radios across the islands as well as on board our sailings as we transport thousands of happy festive travellers between Jersey, Portsmouth and St Malo!”
Channel 103 is Jersey’s favourite radio station reaching 51% of the island’s population every week according to official RAJAR listening figures.
Festive thrill
Channel 103 is part of Tindle Radio which operates Island FM in Guernsey along with Midlands 103 and South East Radio in Ireland.
Channel 103’s Breakfast Presenter Peter Mac added: “We know how much our listeners love the festive season and we’re thrilled to be giving them the Christmas feeling 24 hours a day.
“And I get to wear my Christmas jumpers even more this year!”
