The Media Isle of Man Awards For Excellence return in November to celebrate the island’s best and brightest.
Entries are open for the annual black tie awards show, which will be held at the Villa Marina in Douglas on November 21.
Now in its 18th year, the event and supporting campaign via Media Isle of Man’s wide-reaching network of channels, provide a powerful and important platform to encourage and nurture entrepreneurs, inspire growing businesses and attract inward investment, while bringing the community together and engaging followers from around the world.
Entries can be made online until noon on Thursday 12 September for the 16 awards up for grabs.
The categories include: Business of the Year, Celebrating Local Food & Drink, Community Initiative of the Year, Digital Innovation of the Year, Education & Learning Initiative of the Year, Employer of the Year, Environmental Initiative of the Year, Excellence in Customer Service, Freedom to Flourish, Health & Wellbeing Initiative of the Year, Leader of the Year (by judges’ nomination only), New Business of the Year, Nurturing our Arts, Culture and Heritage, Small and Medium Size Enterprise, Sustainable Business of the Year and Teams Working Together.
Using the online form, submissions have to cover a number of key criteria for the judges’ assessments, including examples of resilience in overcoming obstacles and setbacks, resourcefulness, independent thinking and community loyalty.
Award partnerships are available to allow businesses to position their brands alongside categories which resonate with their organisation’s cultural values and business vision.
Partner opportunities
The partners on board for 2024 already include the Isle of Man Government, a long time supporter of the event, Biosphere Isle of Man and Manx Wildlife Trust, all benefitting from widespread promotion in key marketing and communication channels delivered by the Media of Isle of Man brands in the run-up to the big night, as well as at the awards event.
Media Isle of Man Deputy Chairman Trudi Williamson MBE encouraged more partners to get on board to celebrate the best of the island’s business and community scenes.

The glittering 2023 ceremony saw 16 prizes awarded to leading businesses and individuals from the local community, with a special lifetime achievement award won by Port St Mary RNLI helm Richard Leigh who has dedicated 25 years to the voluntary service. Business of the Year Award was AFD Software, while the Leader of the Year Award was presented to Sue Cook from Junior Achievement. Employer of the Year went to Barclays for its work to ensure balance in the workplace.
