Office refurb completed in drive to keep high street presence

Our Wellington premises have been refurbished in the latest development in our drive to maintain prominent offices on high streets in the communities we serve.

The office in High Street, home to the Wellington Weekly News, was updated to give our editorial and sales staff a visible location to meet customers and contacts in the Somerset market town centre.

The premises were renovated after management identified the opportunity to invest in improving the layout. Staff moved out temporarily while the work was carried out earlier this year.

Scott Wood, managing director of Tindle Newspapers, said: “We are delighted with the new look Wellington offices, which gives staff a more positive working environment and cements our strategy of investing in high street premises.

“Wellington is an important location for us so we are very pleased with the work delivered.

Unique presence

“Having visible, accessible premises at the centre of communities we serve is vital for generating the trusted local content which maintains our uniqueness.

“Across our regions, our focus remains on reporting on the stories which are most important to local people, generating marketing opportunities for advertisers. Maintaining a high street presence is part of our plan to ensure this continues to be achieved

“Our brands continue to evolve, but the emphasis upon localness and trust will remain at the heart of what we do. We are hoping to announce investment in similar projects in due course.”

In 2023, a new town centre home for the Cornish and Devon Post, which has been published since 1856, opened on Southgate Street, in Launceston, Cornwall.

The previous year the Mid-Devon Advertiser team moved into its new town centre offices in Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot.
