Tindle’s Channel 103 grows radio audience

Jersey’s Channel 103 now has six in ten of the island’s adult population tuning in every week, strengthening its position as the British Isles’ most listened-to radio station by percentage reach, according to the latest RAJAR* figures.

Channel 103 has grown its weekly quarter on quarter by 2,300 listeners to 52,000. The station’s share of listening has increased to 31.2%, the highest share of any radio station, BBC or commercial, in the British Isles.

The new figures also show that sister station Island FM in Guernsey continues to be the number one station in the bailiwick delivering the second highest market share (25.3%) of any radio station in the British Isles.

Tindle Radio’s combined Channel Islands listenership is now 78,100 and total hours of 852,100 meaning that 54% of the Channel Islands’ adult population listens to a Tindle station every week.

Tindle Radio CI Managing Director James Keen says: “Despite additional stations available on DAB across the Channel Islands and a plethora of listening choices on connected devices, it’s clear that local content is still incredibly powerful.

“These figures affirm that radio is still the most powerful platform for local advertisers to connect with nearly 80,000 engaged listeners across Jersey and Guernsey every week.”
