Classic FM and LBC are now available for first time on DAB Digital Radio across the Channel Islands, via our DAB multiplex.
The two stations have gone live to an additional 160,000 potential listeners across Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm broadcasting in DAB+. It’s the first time either has been broadcast terrestrially in the Channel Islands.
Classic FM is the British Isles’ most popular Classical music brand, with a welcoming touch that makes the genre accessible and relevant to all. Presenters include Alexander Armstrong, Dan Walker, Jonathan Ross, Margherita Taylor, Myleene Klass, Aled Jones, Stephen Mangan, Alan Titchmarsh, Charlotte Hawkins, John Humphrys, Moira Stuart, Ritula Shah and Zeb Soanes.
LBC is Britain’s biggest commercial news talk brand. Broadcasting nationally, LBC tackles major stories and the issues that matter, providing a platform for debate and thought leadership. Presenters include Nick Ferrari at breakfast, James O’Brien, Andrew Marr, Shelagh Fogarty, Tom Swarbrick, Iain Dale, and David Lammy.
Both stations are owned by Global, the Media & Entertainment Group, which already broadcasts Heart, Smooth and Capital on DAB+ to the Channel Islands.
The Channel Islands DAB multiplex is operated by Tindle Radio – owners of Channel 103 in Jersey and Guernsey’s Island FM – through its Bailiwick Broadcasting subsidiary.
The addition of Classic FM and LBC brings the total number of stations broadcasting in DAB+ to the Channel Islands to 22.
According to industry listening figures from RAJAR (RAJAR/Ipsos RSL Q3 2023) more than half of all islanders in Jersey and Guernsey tune into DAB radio each week.
A limited amount of capacity remains for broadcasters looking to reach the Channel Islands – interested stations should email [email protected]
